Course Description:

This course is the first in a series of three courses needed to complete the training required for the FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate for single-engine airplanes. In this course, students will focus on cross-country navigation and flight review. Students are required to complete the prescribed solo flight hours, dual instruction flight hours, and ground instruction with a PHSC approved flight instructor. This course has special requirements to include the students must meet prior to enrolling; students must hold a minimum of an FAA 3rd class medical certificate (current 2nd class for GI bill students), must be U.S. citizens or have TSA authorization to start flight training, and hold an Instrument pilot certificate. Students must meet with the PHSC Aviation Project Coordinator for approval and verification of documentations, as well as review course requirements and flight training costs. This course provides the flight training and experience toward obtaining a FAA Commercial rating. In order to receive credit for this course the student must complete the appropriate flight lessons. Flight training fees are paid directly to the college in advance.
