Course Description:

This course is designed to introduce the student to safe patient care. The main topics of this course will be total needs of the surgical patient; diagnostic procedures; patient identification; pharmacology; specimen care; patient transfer and transportation; bio/psycho/social needs of the patient; consents; special populations; tubes, drains and catheters; surgical dressings; and malignant hyperthermia.
