Course Description:

This course prepares students to optimize the health and safety of adult clients. Students develop psychomotor skills relating to the basic needs of oxygenation, nutrition, elimination, comfort and safety, and mobility. The nursing process is introduced and used as a foundational approach to nursing care which assists the student in beginning critical thinking and clinical judgment skills. This course consists of 90 laboratory hours where the students gain competence in psychomotor skills and 135 clinical hours in applying knowledge and skills.
