Course Description:

This course introduces the student to the basic working concepts of the art of editing through the use of a non-linear video editing system. Topics to be covered include: capturing both digital and analog video, organizing a new project, storing video clips, explaining the browser, viewer, canvas and timeline. Students will experience hands on instruction in the use of the above elements, which will result in the ability to log and capture, edit with straight cuts and simple effects, and output the final product to tape. Students will also be exposed to some of the more advanced features of an editing program including special effects, composing, and text and titling.
