Course Description:

This course is an historical survey of Western Drama from the High Renaissance in England to the Modern Period in America. Students read well-known plays of each period, including popular contemporary pieces. Through group readings and discussions of the plays, oral interpretation, and writing, students explore theme, plot, character, and other dramatic entities. Field trips to area theaters may be scheduled. This course satisfies the Gordon Rule writing requirement. A grade of 'C' or higher must be attained.
