Course Description:

This course examines the interplay between human culture and psychology. Students will examine the complex variations in human behavior across cultures and ethnic groups, with particular emphasis on the following topics: ethnic identity, intercultural (verbal and nonverbal) communication, gender, cognition, motivation, emotion, development, cultural conflict, psychopathology, conflict resolution and social relationships. This course will also emphasize theoretical and methodological issues and explore the application of psychology to current cross-cultural problems and issues. This course satisfies the Gordon Rule writing requirement. A grade of 'C' or higher must be attained.
