Course Description:
This course aims to integrate Engineering design activities with Engineering graphical communications using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and professional skills emphasizing teaming and leadership, and communication in a variety of mediums. Computer Aided Design (CAD) software is used as a tool to create 2D and 3D sketches, 3D parts, 3D assemblies, and Engineering drawing per industry standards. Skills in parametric modeling include planning and model strategy, dimensioning and tolerances, perspectives, and use of basic features in the CAD software. The project will allow students to integrate these basic skills with Additive Manufacturing processes to develop solutions to real world Engineering problems. This course will develop students' knowledge of design processes as well as basic mechanical Engineering skills.
